About Us
At Nusantara Blades, every blade tells a story — of fire, heritage, and the hands that shaped it.
We bring authentic, hand-forged Indonesian blades to collectors, outdoorsmen, and craftsmen around the world. From rugged parangs and goloks to ceremonial kujang and kris, each piece is a living part of Indonesia's centuries-old blade-making tradition.
OUR HERITAGE
Indonesia — the Nusantara, a vast archipelago of thousands of islands — has forged blades for generations. The parang and golok cleared forests and fields. The kujang and kris carried meaning, status, and spirit. The karambit was born from the rhythms of daily life. These are not mass-produced tools; they are cultural artifacts shaped by tradition.
We work with skilled Indonesian smiths and carvers who keep these crafts alive, combining time-honored techniques with a deep respect for the materials and the meaning behind every blade.
HAND-FORGED, HAND-CARVED — ONE OF A KIND
Every blade we offer is made by hand:
- Forged by experienced smiths, then carefully finished and tempered.
- Paired with hand-carved wooden sheaths and handles — featuring traditional batik patterns and ornamental motifs such as dragons, tigers, and garuda — or hand-tooled leather sheaths.
- Inspected for quality before it leaves the workshop.
Because each piece is made by hand, no two are exactly alike. Slight variations in grain, finish, and carving are not flaws — they are the signature of genuine craftsmanship. When you own a Nusantara blade, you own a one-of-a-kind piece.
MADE FOR THE FIELD — AND THE COLLECTION
Our blades live two lives. Some are built for the outdoors — bushcraft, camping, gardening, and survival — tough, reliable, and ready for real work. Others are collector's pieces and cultural art: ornate, expressive, and worthy of display. Whatever draws you to them, you're holding a piece of Indonesian heritage.

OUR STORY
I was born and raised in Indonesia, in West Java — the homeland of the kujang, where the craft of blade-making has been passed down for generations.
Growing up surrounded by this tradition, I saw something the rest of the world rarely does: skilled local smiths forging blades by hand, and carvers shaping wood and leather into sheaths covered in batik patterns, dragons, tigers, and garuda. These aren't factory products. They are art, history, and culture — made by real artisans, one piece at a time.
I started Nusantara Blades to share this heritage with the world, and to support the craftsmen who keep it alive. I work directly with these artisans here in Indonesia, so when you buy from us, you're not buying from a faceless warehouse — you're buying straight from the source, and helping a living tradition continue.
This is more than a business to me. It's my way of sharing a piece of Indonesia's soul with people who truly appreciate it. Thank you for being part of the journey.
OUR PROMISE
We're proud of the craftsmanship behind every blade, and we want you to be too. If you have a question, need guidance choosing a piece, or want to talk craft — reach out anytime. We're here to help.
